Switching plan managers under the PACE system

As the PACE system rollout is now well and truly underway, it’s essential to know what things have changed.

We know that the changeover has caused challenges for some. That’s why it’s our goal to support participants at this time and ensure the process is as smooth as possible.

One thing many participants don’t realise is that the process for switching plan managers has now changed. Fortunately, it’s faster and simpler than before. Let’s take a look.

What is PACE?

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is currently rolling out a new computer system known as PACE.

This system will eventually replace the current computer system used by the NDIA and replace the myplace portal.

How is PACE going to impact me (or my participant)?

There are many changes happening as a result of PACE. These include a new portal, website, and app, funding rollover changes, service booking changes, participant check-in changes, and more.

Fortunately, to help you weed through the confusion, we’ve created a set of FAQs to answer any queries you may have.

How can I switch plan manager with PACE?

Under PACE, switching plan managers is now simpler than ever. If you’re interested in switching, all you need to do is call the NDIA and appoint your preferred plan manager.

It’s that simple!

Unlike the previous process, you no longer need to give notice to your current plan manager (if you have one) that you’re making the switch.

Greater choice and control

The good news is, the new process means more choice and control for you (or your participant).

Previously participants were required to have their current plan manager endorse or approve a change request. Now, as the participant you gain control over who manages your plan with no need for approval from the previous plan manager.

Onboarding is even more simple

Many participants feel that switching plan managers will be a convoluted and stressful process. It required engaging with your previous plan manager and then working with the new plan manager to switch across.

Under the PACE system, it’s a matter of simply calling the NDIA and letting them know you’d like to switch to myAutonomy. From there, we’ll take care of everything!
