Service Providers- What to look out for

Service Providers: What to look out for

An essential part of getting the best out of your NDIS plan is choosing the right supports. After all, your supports impact whether you’ll be able to achieve your goals and, ultimately, improve your quality of life.

As part of our “what to look out for” series, we’re focussing on service providers to help you ask the right questions and make the right choice for you.

We spoke to the team at Personalised Support Services to discover what makes a great service provider.

What is a service provider?

A service provider is an individual or organisation offering supports or products to NDIS participants.

What should you be looking for when choosing a service provider?

Families and participants should look for a provider that offers opportunities for adaptability, tailored experiences, and accountability in execution.

At Personalised Support Services, we believe making ourselves available for all requests, providing open and transparent solutions, and providing tailored service to the diagnosis and situation are important. This enables us to uphold high service standards and smiles for all parties.

These are qualities we recommend looking out for when you choose a service provider to ensure they’ll support you to meet ideal outcomes.

What questions should participants ask service providers as part of their selection process?

When making the choice, it’s helpful to ask the following questions. These will help ensure that the provider is suitable for your needs.

  • What types of accommodation do you have available?

  • What do your group activities involve?

  • Do you provide sufficient services in my local area?

  • Can you help me coordinate my plan and help me understand my plan?

  • I am new to the NDIS or looking to get onto the NDIS, can you help?

  • Do you take on hospital and prison discharge?

Can you tell us about Personalised Support Services?

Personalised Support Services is a registered NDIS provider that focuses on four main areas of delivery:

  • Core Supports

  • Support Coordination

  • Supported Accommodation, and

  • Group Activities

We are fortunate to have a strong presence not only in the disability sector but within justice and mental health also.

We can provide tailored and personalised service towards all participants with different diagnoses, as we believe everyone has a different approach to what they need, but are respected equally across our team.

We come from a culturally and linguistically diverse community where we recognise the need for a multi-lingual and multi-cultural approach across multiple members of the NDIS. It’s our goal to do our part to give back to those who need it the most.
