We spoke to Amanda McRae, Director and Support Coordinator to learn more about how Satellite Support Services helps participants.

Tell us about your organisation…

We offer Support Coordination services to self-managed and plan-managed participants and specialise in Home and Living support needs.

At Satellite Support Services, we are dedicated to guiding and connecting participants to disability supports that meet their needs and their budget, while helping them navigate what can feel like a complex system.

How did Satellite Support Services come to be?

I worked for the NDIA for over six years (left in November 2023) and was a national trainer and assessor for Home and Living and SME in Assistive Technology.

I could see the gap in communication between the agency processes and the outside world (participants and providers) and decided I wanted to use my knowledge of the scheme to support the people who needed it most.

That led me to Support Coordination.

Which regions do you look after?

Geelong and surrounds, Ballarat, South-East QLD and we’re looking to expand into Bendigo.

What’s your organisation’s difference?

Given my experience with the NDIA, we have an inside, intimate knowledge of the workings of the scheme in the most complex support areas. This helps us to really support participants in a way that might not otherwise be possible.

My background is also unique––I’m a retired female race car driver turned Support Coordinator!

We’re also focused on exceptional client experience to ensure every participant gains the support, access, and attention they deserve.
